The Tour de l’Ain – Solimut Mutuelle de France mourns Paul Lamberet.
All the regulars of the Tour de l’Ain have learned with sorrow of the death of Paul Lamberet. Aged 88, he had long been a very important partner of the event, sponsoring the yellow jersey in the early 2000s.
Every year, the route passed in front of the Lamberet bodywork factories in Saint-Cyr-sur-Menthon, where a bonus was contested.
A cycling enthusiast, Paul Lamberet was also a sponsor of the Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne Cycling Club, which in the 1990s became one of the leading clubs in France with leaders such as Jean-Paul Garde, Marc Thévenin and Denis Jusseau, under the sporting direction of the late Jean-Pierre Michoux.
To his wife Joséphine, his children Philippe and Caroline, and his five grandchildren, the Tour de l’Ain Management sends its most sincere condolences.
