The U17 Race

The Tour de l'Ain cadets welcomes teams from all over France and Europe (Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain...).

A learning experience

At its level, the Tour de l’Ain provides the means of a professional event at the service of the national cycling movement and in particular the clubs that train young riders.

As a sporting event, the U17 Tour de l’Ain is above all a race that favors team riding. Bringing together French and European teams, it allows the young guard of cycling to forge a true collective spirit. The yellow jersey is awarded to each member of the best team at the end of every stage.

An international event

The U17 Tour de l’Ain allows a number of young riders, aged 15 to 16 years old, from France and abroad to take part in a sporting event adapted to their level, while living intensely their sport at the heart of a professional stage race.

Team spirit above all

Over several days, as a prelude to the professionals’ stage finishes, the 150 riders – 30 teams of 5 riders – take part in alternating of road races or team time trials, resulting in a general team classification with a leader’s jersey.


Selection of participating teams

1st criterion:
Teams from the department of the Ain
French club teams
Foreign club teams

2nd criterion :
ABSOLUTE priority will be given to teams presenting 5 riders from the same club.

Constitution of the application dossier
Registration form (below) and non-refundable 300 € commitment cheque (made out to the Tour de l’Ain).

No list of departmental committee or other,
No club grouping,
Minimum 3 runners from the same club,
List can be modified until May 1st, 2020 with proof.
